Some of our Videography and Motion Graphics Work

A promo video for a Dance Floor maker company in Milano. I scripted, shot, edited this promo. The main challenge was not being able to study the location beforehand and not being allowed to use “heavier” duty equipment (especially lighting). This promo was mainly conceived for use in fairs/events on stand and installation screens.
A promo I had to edit by inserting the captions and other graphics and SFX in on top of the footage (not shot by me). I had to do several versions with different durations (short bumpers etc.), for different social media placeholders (16:9, 1:1, 9:16…).
Nothing excessive here to keep the focus on the information being delivered, I decided to highlight the relevant poker terms / Keywords” with colors and or specific animations/SFX.
After testing the most trendy web apps out there that will caption videos for you, I ended up going back to my usual toolset that allowed me full, granular control for each word, character, sentence, animations, styles etc. so I could be able to highlight the relevant parts as I wished, and so I could also integrate the additional motion graphics (cards, emojis…) in one single editing session.
I was commissioned by this clinic in Istanbul to meet one of their Italian clients and conduct an interview as part of a promotional video I also made.
It was all pretty straightforward, I was expecting a challenge regarding the shooting location which I had to scout on the same day of the shooting, and being the only one taking care of everything I had a hard time keeping the pond in the background and keeping the subject from receiving too much direct sunlight on his face/head.
I had limited space to locate the composition to match this request from the end client, who had seen the pond in that park so I struggled with the sunlight as the interview was lengthy. Thankfully the interviewee was a fantastic man who was very inventive and comfortable with the camera, so that helped a lot.
Change of plans requested me to overlay the interview questions on the video footage, and not cutaway to questions “slides” like Initially planned, so I often didn’t have slack or pre-roll / post-roll footage of the client standing still and silent for me to use in post and overlay the questions.
I had to come up with several solutions, and as usual Davinci Resolve Studio has been of invaluable help in correcting and grading the footage, and editing swiftly. As usual, my partner in crime: After Effects helped on the motion graphics side.
I was invited by these clients to collaborate in the following challenge: try to make a product/explainer promo with flat photos of flat products. Many of the products available for me to showcase were also a challenge due to their nature, like the orfix Safebags (eco-conscious and eco friendly by the way), which are just transparent bags or sleeves.
I was worried at first as I couldn’t go for 3D modeling and renderings as the budget was a bit limited, personally, there wasn’t an easy straightforward visual identity that could be easily applied to valuable transportation bags, but in the end, the client’s website “feel” and look, their values and product technology (they are not “just” bags!) showed me the way to go.
I went all-in and bet to develop a very edgy tech visual narrative and ambient by carefully choosing the right music tracks, building subtle and not overwhelming sound designs to reinforce the concept and enrich the videos without going “crazy” and making this a sci-movie.
The client was so delighted we closed a deal for several other videos!
To make the products and video more exciting I decided to go 2.5D: not super flat, not full 3D.

This is one of a three-video ads campaign I was hired to edit for a UK-based production house.
My task in all these videos was to conceive the editing from the raw shots I received and the voiceovers. I had to research and apply an appropriate music track (three really, one for each ad, so I had to keep in mind cohesiveness and continuity in style and tone), color correct and slightly grade, overlay any motion graphics/captions (I didn’t create those), add some fixes / “invisible” VFX, speed variations, stabilization, and other small aesthetic tweaks.
Afterward, once the main language ads were finished and approved, I had to localize them in 7 additional languages with their respective voiceovers, which proved challenging sometimes due to some great differences in duration and syntax between some languages.
A brand awareness ad I created for a “sensory” sheet for kids e-commerce. I suggested starting building a Brand Awareness campaign and scripted and edited this ad using only stock footage.
I was asked to redub this video from English to Spanish.
Being also an actor, I had the intention to VO the video myself, but lastly, I found my voice was too casual and “young”, so I reached out to a colleague who has a deeper voice, which would reflect the magnitude and years of experience of the company. I didn’t want to make it too solemn or excessively corporate though, so I asked him to use a warm, welcoming and slightly optimistic tone.
The client having only the finished video (no project, files, whatsoever, just the Youtube Video), I had to redesign and re-edit all the audio, also adding some more sound effects to keep the continuity and logic from the original intention, which was not always followed, but keeping all discreet and occasional not to overwhelm the spectators.
It was a very fulfilling Audio Design and Mix project.
